Everett’s Custom Baptism Romper

Everett’s parents reached out to me a few months ago, to enquire about having a special baptism garment made for him. Although this wasn’t something I had yet advertised, in the background I had been working on patterns and plans for offering custom baptism garments. Sometimes it really does pay to send off that enquiry, because you never know what’s possible!

With some final details worked out, we were able to get underway. It was a joy to work with Oliver and Mykela on this very special project. Here’s a little look at how Everett’s baptism romper came together.

Everett’s custom-made baptism romper was sewn in a crisp white 100% cotton fabric, accented with timber buttons on the waistcoat front and embellished with hand embroidery in a co-ordinating tan colour. Two hand embroidered crosses were added to the collar points. Inside, I stitched Everett’s full name and baptism date, as a permanent reminder of this special day.

One final customisation was to tack the collar down with hidden stitches, to prevent Everett being bothered by its natural movement. This simple modification maintained the garment’s style while allowing it to better suit a young baby.
